Whale Red Oxide Primer is an anti-corrosive metal primer that protects iron and steel from rust and improves the adhesion of enamel topcoats, making the whole finish last longer.

Typical values at 25°C and 50% relative humidity. Practical coverage depends on surface texture, porosity and application method.
05How to apply
Surface preparation
- Remove rust, scale and loose paint by wire brushing or sanding.
- Degrease with solvent and let dry.
- Paint as soon as possible after cleaning.
Application
- Stir well.
- Apply one or two coats by brush, roller or spray.
- Allow 12 – 16 hours before the enamel topcoat.
- Clean tools with mineral turpentine.
06Storage, health & safety
- Flammable — no naked flames
- Ventilate well while painting
- Avoid skin contact
- Keep away from children
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from heat, sparks and open flame, with the lid tightly closed. Flammable — do not smoke while painting. Avoid inhaling vapour; use in ventilated areas. Keep out of reach of children.
