Overview

Made for putty & primers.

Wallman Red Oxide Primer is an alkyd-based anti-corrosive primer for iron and steel. It seals bare metal against moisture and rust, grips firmly to the surface and gives enamel topcoats a sound base to hold on to, so gates, grills and railings stay protected through humid summers, monsoon rain and salty sea air.

How to apply

For the best finish.

1 · Prepare the surface

  5. Do not paint wet metal or metal heated by direct midday sun.

2 · Apply

  1. Stir thoroughly before use.
  2. Thin with mineral turpentine only if needed, up to 10%.
  3. Apply one even coat by brush, roller or spray; two coats outdoors and in coastal areas.
  4. Allow 12 – 16 hours before the enamel topcoat.
  5. Finish with two coats of Wallman Premium Synthetic Enamel.
  6. Clean tools with mineral turpentine.
